saw pretty dogs today. esp kelsey, a dalmation. peanut was wonderful, but UBER begal. which means very hyper and very hunting. so no go with her. The lady was surprised that we drove all the way to avon lake to look at a begal despite the fact that we already have a rabbit. She was quite insistent that we would NOT find a dog that would get along with our rabbit. [livejournal.com profile] 31337zeke, [livejournal.com profile] iaskedalice and I were at dinner at Bob Evans and I called the Dalmation Rescue ppl again. She happened to be there, so we talked and set up a time for me to come and see some of them tonight. We stopped at the apt to get Chava, to see how she would interact with kelsey. Kelsey's reaction to chava went basically "sniff sniff, lick, what are you? hey look, grass over there *trot trot trot* " we also saw a lot of her other dogs, which were SUPER sweet, but not as friendly with small furry critters. But the lady seems really sweet, and the dogs are well loved and well cared for. I'm going to submit my application so that we can see more dogs that are out in foster care. I'm starting to consider taking a road trip to IN to see a dal there that she's fostering... This dal (Domino, F) sounds fabulous. She's just far away.

Okay, I'm now going to address the questions that I'm sure some of you are asking. "don't you ahve enough pets?" and "what happened to george?" (and likely "who is george?" from some of you). George was our large bright orange ungainly tabby. He was wonderful and full of love and only six but full of tumors that were almost certainly cancerous, and he likely was not to live much longer. He'd stopped eating, had lost 1.5# in 10 days, and was more lethargic than when he'd gotten sick with the ear infections. We took him to the vet. Unfortunately he was not to come home with us. K and I bawled incessantly and the vet (Dr Rahman in Parma/Seven Hills, contact me for his contact info) was wonderful and understanding and made us coffee and let us take the time that we needed to deal with that. He knew how much we loved george in the short time that we were seeing him.

So now it's awfully quiet here. ANd there's no free roaming four legged rascal. And we need one. And it can't be chava... she's just far too tempted by all the cords lying around, and I'm too afraid to let her do that. I'd let her have a room all to herself if we had one, but we dont :/

Getting another cat right away seems really difficult. Honestly, the only ones K and I could handle would be [livejournal.com profile] balder and [livejournal.com profile] louhi, and that's only because we were prepared for their possible arrival before george even got sick the last time. and K an I had already been looking at dogs and kicking around teh idea of getting one. So it's a possibility. Hasn't been decided yet. But we're looking, and we're falling in love with dals :)
