(no subject)

I am the oh so happy happy step-mommy to a huge cuddly kitty that is getting used to me and coming to me for cuddling :) He's even coming out when Amy is in the room, but not much. I think he's just not used to her yet, and possibly afraid of her smallness... She's curious about him, and doesn't instigate any hissing now, but she'll gently return it to show that she's got it in her too. but no fur puffing or anything. I even got him to let me wipe his nose!!! YAY! poor baby, picked the dustiest part of my room to hide in. I fell asleep on my bed while I was petting him and talking to him and he looked like he was thinking about coming up onto the bed with me, but just wasn't sure about that yet. He's adjusting well. Amy doesn't particularly care for my shutting her out of my room now and then, so that Balder can come out and not worry about anyone other than me being there. but she's managing, especially after kristen came home last night. i think she was mostly mad because there wasn't anyone else home for her to go and see except the other animals, and she's got this thing for those two-legged tailless things with no fur. But she's managing, and she's learning that she is not to eat Balder's food. This is a hard one, since she and Chava routinely ate each other's food. That has to stop too, and we were already working on it, so this isn't totally new for her. She's misbehaving a little too, I think she feels like she's not getting enough attention. She's clawing at walls and the furniture again, whereas she was mostly broken of that. I'm working hard to give them equal attention and one on one time. I think she'd like it better if Balder came out to play with her, or just came out so they could get to know each other, but he isn't ready for that, and Amy is an impatient kitty. but it will all work out well, I can tell already. And from what I've heard of him adjusting to his last move, he's coming about much more quickly here, which is good :)

I wonder if perhaps he sensed their allergies and that's why he shyed away?
